2/27/07 Ashtar on the power of the song "Amazing Grace":

"You can simply say, 'God I AM, One I AM, Love I AM,' and there's your book. There's your book of all of the lifetimes. Some of them have been white hat, some of them have been victims, martyrs, beggars, sick ones, betrayed ones, and most unhappy ones.

"And you can look back on it all, and say, 'I thank the God/Goddess I AM, because I AM who I AM now in this moment, and I have grown to be who I AM, as a result of all that I have done, and all of the places I have been before.'

"And while you're at it, take another good look in that mirror, and give honor to that lifetime or two, where you beloved ones, wore the dark hats, because somebody had to do it, first of all, so that there would be contrast. You were just as much teacher then, as when you wore the white hats.

"And, there is a part of you that can relate even now, to those whom you consider to be dark ones. And if you can reach down, not to be a dark one again, not to even remember all of the things that you did, but simply to find Compassion, and to say, 'I have always been Love, and I have always been worthy of love, and I have, as it turns out, always been worthy of loving myself, no matter what I have done.' "That becomes Forgiveness, and whatever thought you have about yourself, applies to all others in the universe.

"So when you free yourself from whatever guilt might be there, and you forgive yourself, that is you quit judging yourself, it becomes much easier to have Compassion for those who really are in a dark state, and who really have shown you the most heinous of dark deeds in this lifetime of yours. It's just a little bit easier to find the Compassion to send them the Love, which will bring them out of the dark, if you will acknowledge to yourselves that you trod their path a time or two. How you express it matters not. Now here's some inside truth for you. You have always been loved, and you have always been honored for how you expressed yourselves in all of the lifetimes you've had, no matter what color your hat was, and oh, there's a lot of gray tones too.

"There was one whose song is sung so often today. He came from a place of not caring, and by not caring, giving tacit approval to a rather common practice of slavery in the world. He had, what you call, an epiphany, and he wrote a song expressing Joy at what he came to understand, and the Love he came to feel that blossomed within him.

"It is one of the most powerfully empowering songs upon your planet today. And if you want to empower yourselves, simply read it, or sing it everyday. And that song is called 'Amazing Grace.' And there are two versions. One is rather judgmental, where you will hear the term 'wretch.' Take that judgment out of it, free yourselves from it, and simply say 'Soul.' "Because that is the truth of it, and that is the light of it. And if you feel not like singing, just read the words. You can find them on that marvelous internet. That is empowering that one man could move so many by simply giving testimony, as it is stated, and this is valid, by giving testimony to his grand lightening-up, his returning home to the heart, and his becoming Love expressed.

"And so we suggest this, that you take this thought with you. Send it out over the internet, put it in an email to your friends, to those upon your list. Suggest that they read the words a time or two. And when you do, send them Love.

"Send them that great Love you are. Do you know how to empower an email even more? Simply bless it as you send it out. You know you push a button. Well, just before you push the button allow yourselves to feel that Love in your heart, and then just send it out with that email. There is a difference between opening up an email, and reading it, and going on to the next email, and opening up that email, and feeling the Love that you send with it. Try it!"

Amazing Grace

Words by John Newton, 1779

Amazing Grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a Soul like me!
I once was lost, but now am found
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas Grace that taught my heart to fear,
And Grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils, and snares
I have already come.
'Tis Grace hath brought me safe thus far
And Grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me.
His Word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures.

When we've been here ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we'd first begun.

Amazing Grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a Soul like me!
I once was lost, but now am found
Was blind, but now I see.
