Question: About The Concept Of Hell
Channeled by Ruth Ryden

Question: In St. Matthew 3, vs. 12, "His shovel is in his hand and he purifies his thrashings; the wheat he gathers into his barns, and the straw he will burn in the unquenchable fire."

Here is the concept of Hell that is followed by so many. I have been taught there is no such eternal fire for those who transgress, but only a place for the higher intelligence of those who refuse the grace of their Creator. Please explain.

MASTERS: "You understand that these words were given to the ancient prophets in symbolic manner and especially to those who were trying to impress the truth of the laws of God to them. The symbology of unquenchable fire is the full knowledge of the soul being of what he/she has done, which is a torment in itself. When the soul being has fully realized his negative act to himself and humanity, he can reach up and be taken out of the “mental” suffering he is going through and again find the grace of God. The actuality of suffering torments in the afterlife is the guilt and knowledge of what has been done during the lifetime. To a soul being, who is an offspring of the Creator and essentially pure from its very beginning, this is indeed the worst suffering it can endure until it is ready to ask forgiveness from himself (God has already forgiven), then come back into the Loving Arms of God."
